VALORANT’s Anti-cheat could be dangerous for your computer

Riot Games announced the fight against cheaters from the very beginning — these assurances have fallen again recently when the first cheater was banned during the closed beta. Some people, however, complain that Vanguard, a program designed to protect against dishonest players, can have a negative impact on our computers.

There have been many threads on forums that have been started by people who complain that since the installation of VALORANT they have had huge problems with the decrease of FPS in other games. This situation seems to affect a large number of users and has already been reported in a special thread on the official reddit for the game.

It is problematic because Vanguard itself is closely related to VALORANT, it works in the background and we can’t just remove it, because even if we do it, it will be installed again when restarting the title.

Riot’s Anti-Cheat software Vanguard is causing frame drops in all my games, including Valorant making them unplayable with the software installed. from r/VALORANT

Even warning materials have already appeared before installing the Riot software. In the movie, which says a lot about the title “Why you shouldn’t install VALORANT”, Mutahar Anas from the SomeOrdinaryGamers channel noted that Vanguard receives the highest level administrative privileges from our system, which has been compared to rootkits, which are tools used during hacking into IT systems.

The software works from the kernel position, which was supposed to ensure high efficiency in stopping fraudsters. However, the fact that after only a few days the first cheaters appeared, who had to be banned, puts this theory in question.

In addition, it is not known whether Vanguard, thanks to its privileges, does not collect any information about the user, although the representatives of Riot Games themselves assured that nothing of this sort takes place.

Krieg out, Deagle in: Another debatable CS:GO update

You might think that Valve took pity on CS:GO players for Easter. This is a natural conclusion when we look at the night update of one of the most popular FPS in the world, at the first glance. The joy of many fans of the shooter, however, can be premature, because as it soon turned out, with the long-awaited nerf for SG553 we had to experience the strengthening of Deagle, which, judging by the reaction of the community, may in a very short time become the new most hated weapon on the stage.

A few minutes after the update, videos showing the ease of operating the most expensive pistol in your inventory were circulated. By increasing the accuracy of shots fired during the jump, this weapon now offers fantastic possibilities, also in the case of long-range killing. This state of affairs, of course, quickly divided the community, although reading the comments posted on the network it is not difficult to resist the impression that there are definitely more opponents of such strengthening than supporters. And probably not too much to be surprised.

If this was not an intentional move from the beginning, then it must be admitted that Valve undoubtedly managed to get thousands of users discussing CS at once. Of course, the social media of professional players as well as commentators and game experts were not silent. Jason “Moses” O’Toole, a famous CS: GO caster, wrote on his profile: “Now you will all try the CS from 2001”, thus commenting on the video of the Deagle shots during the jump. James Bardolph is not satisfied with the buff of the mentioned pistol either.

looks like the new update is gonna be fun from r/GlobalOffensive

The above two were supported by, among others Emil “Magisk” Reif. The Dane wrote: “Let me say it in other words. Deagle didn’t need a change. It’s not COD, Fortnite or Overwatch.” Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač looked a bit wider at the entire update. Bosniak was pleased not only with the weakening of Krieg, but also to reduce the price of M4A1-S by $200, because, as he recalls, he often uses this version of the basic rifle for anti-terrorists.

“Finally a nerf! Wooohooooo, it promises to be a beautiful season, because I will no longer troll with this weapon “- wrote Tomasz “freo” Wolski, a player of Invicta Gaming about SG553. Grzegorz “SZPERO” Dziamałek found the night update interesting and expressed approval for several changes that were introduced to the game at night.

Everything indicates that in the coming weeks the CS:GO finish will change a lot and certainly those who will be able to adapt to it faster will receive a lot of handicap over their rivals. And Valve has again achieved what they hoped for – the update of the American flagship product of the studio provoked a discussion and maybe soon will also affect the number of active players, after all, many of them will want to try the changes on their own.

Here’s how you can play in the VALORANT closed beta early

For many months, Riot Games quite sparingly gave us new information about VALORANT, the upcoming multiplayer FPS. And although the creators of League of Legends, especially in recent weeks, have finally opened the veil of secrecy, one issue remained — when the beta will start.

But now we know that it will start relatively soon, on April 7 at 14:00 CEST. It is then that the test servers will be opened, on which the lucky group will be able to see for themselves what Riot was preparing for several years.

Importantly, in this version of the game we will be able to progress, but this progress will not be transferred to the full version of the game, once it gets released in Summer of 2020. The situation is different when it comes to VALORANT points, i.e. the internal currency that will be used to shop in the store. We will be able to purchase this right away and then it will remain in our “portfolio” after the premiere, and will even increase by 20% as a bonus.

As it is a closed beta, the number of places in it will be limited, however, most major regions are included in the closed beta test.

How to get access to the VALORANT closed beta? Well, we first need to set up a Riot account, and then link it to Twitch. And then you only need to watch the streamers selected by the developers, hoping that you will be lucky and you will get the closed beta pass.

At the moment, it is not known how long the tests will last and how many players will be able to try their hand at the test servers. For more information about the VALORANTA beta, please visit the developer’s official website. This is where you can also submit your interest to participate in the tests.

Follow further instructions on the site as described above to be one of the first to start playing VALORANT closed beta next week.

VALORANT will be a free game, and the manufacturer ensures that thanks to the appropriate optimization, everyone will be able to enjoy the game, even those whose equipment is not the latest. The premiere of the PC game in most regions of the world is scheduled for summer 2020.

Finally, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the gameplay presented today, which comes from the alpha version of the game.

c0ntact vs FunPlus Phoenix in review

C0ntact Gaming players had far more problems beating FunPlux Phoenix than one would expect. However, ultimately the international line-up reached their goal and successfully started the second stage of Flashpoint.

In the early minutes, however, Espiranto’s team got on mercilessly, unable to find an effective way to bypass the defense of the newly baked representatives of FPX. As a result, at some point North American players were already leading 9:2, being on their way to the win. But this did not happen then, because before the break c0ntact came to the front and recovered some of the losses, leading to a result of 6:9.

he problem is that after switching sides, FunPlux Phoenix still dominated the server and only occasionally allowed its rivals from the Old Continent to respond. No wonder that the duel ended after 25 rounds with the victory of Michael “dapra” Gulino and the company.

But it wasn’t over yet. Although the Inferno started better for FPX again, but it was not able to maintain a high pace and with time it lowered. And rallen and his friends were just waiting for it — with a score of 0:3 they finally managed to take the lead, thanks to which they recorded a series of eight rounds won in a row. Fortunately, because the rivals did not think to let go, as a result of which after the first half the two teams were divided by only one point. I’m afraid to think what would happen if c0ntact didn’t get a second pistol round. But they got it, again running away from FunPlux Phoenix players and forcing them to chase the leader.

It seemed for a long time, however, that it could be a successful pursuit, because both of them went head to head and only with a throw on the tape the European squad tipped the scales of victory to their side, triumphing 16:14.

A lot has happened on the decisive map, which was Dust2. There, no one could definitely take the lead — instead, we witnessed a leveled duel almost point by point. Constant escape, constant pursuit. This is how the first half can be described in brief. due to the result of 8:7 in favor of rallen’s team did not give us too many answers about who will ultimately win. But now we can say it — c0ntact won. The international squad diligently used the strengths of the defense game, and even Rodowicz himself was ruthless and ended the fight with as many as 33 frags on his account. This is eight more than the second most effective player on the server, dapr. Finally, the scoreboard indicated 16:12 in favor of the European team.

Thanks to the victory c0ntact advanced to the group C finals, during which it will take on MAD Lions this Thursday.

zews is leaving MIBR

Almost everything has already been said and written about MIBR sports problems. Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo’s team is in the biggest hole since it restored at the end of 2018. As if that was not enough, the South American five swapped their current coach Wilton “zews” Prado, who stepped down from his position.

The 32-year-old’s decision is a big surprise, even if we take into account the poor results of the team in recent months — currently MIBR is only 25th in the world ranking. The answer why zews decided to take this step can be found in the extensive statement he published.

An experienced trainer feels somewhat responsible for the failure of the project and the results of the team, he also says that he is tormented by far more complex problems than the players might think. Problems which, according to Prado, can be solved only through deeper changes within the staff and work culture. As for the outsider, he is not thinking about withdrawing from the professional stage yet and is waiting for offers from organizations interested in his services.

Prado came to MIBR in December 2018 as part of the exchange with Team Liquid. Together with him, the club managed by Immortals Gaming Club also hit Epitácio “TACO” de Melo, and Jake “Stewie2K” Yip went in the opposite direction. In retrospect, it should be said that it was the American who came out best on the entire transaction, because last year, despite the successful opening to Intel Extreme Masters Katowice, was completely unsuccessful for MIBR. Already in June, the team moved to the bench João “Felps” Vasconcellos, in mid-July at his own request Marcelo “coldzera” David, which allowed Zews to perform at the last Major. New players were supposed to come to the team’s help, but one could get the impression that each transfer only added stones to the garden.

Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo announced that at the moment Ricardo “dead” Sinigaglia, former manager of the formation, will be the coach of the team. The team is not looking for a new trainer.

The composition of MIBR now looks as follows:

  • Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo
  • Fernando “fer” Alvareng
  • Epitácio “TACO” de Melo
  • Vito “kNg” Giuseppe
  • Ignacio “meyern” Meyer
  • Ricardo “dead” Sinigaglia – coach

es3tag joins Astralis as a permanent sub

Astralis is a team that has undoubtedly left the biggest mark on the international CS:GO scene in recent years. The Danes repeatedly made their mark on the pages of history, winning, among others, three Majors in a row or reaching for the triumph in the first installment of the Intel Grand Slam series.

And now the time has come for the next stage of evolution — the Scandinavian formation has announced that in the beginning of July its ranks will be joined by Patrick “es3tag” Hansen, currently representing FunPlus Phoenix. Thus, for the first time in the CS:GO era, one of the top teams in the world will build their game around a permanent 6-person squad.

The general public learned about the interest of Astralis in es3tag’s services yesterday, when journalists from HLTV.org and 1pv.fr shared their reports with the world. The transfer of a 24-year-old is not a surprise, so you can talk about surprise in the context of the date of Hansen’s move to a new formation. The Dane will change club colors only on July 1, when the contract binding him with Heroic expires — at least so says Nikolaj Nyholm, CEO of Astralis Group. This is the result of a disagreement between the organizations regarding the transfer amount.

Therefore, the backstage and the sales status of the Heroic’s CS:GO division to FunPlus Phoenix is still a puzzling issue. We remind you that the Chinese organization recently announced the successful finalization of negotiations, and the Danes debuted in its colors during the first stage of Flashpoint. Heroic social channels, however, have been silent since March 10, and media news circulating on the network suggests that, in fact, not all formalities have been done to the last button. What future awaits both organizations? For the meanwhile, FunPlus has withdrawn from the competition.

In this situation, it seems that at least in the near futureAstralis will appear with the same lineup known to us from recent weeks. es3tag and company are currently in Los Angeles, and therefore, having the coronavirus pandemic in mind, any changes might be unlikely. It is worth mentioning, however, that according to Danish journalists, Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen has already found himself in the crosshairs of the 15th world team, currently still representing Heroic.

At the beginning of July, the composition of Astralis will look like this:

  • Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz
  • Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen
  • Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth
  • Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander
  • Emil “Magisk” Reif
  • Patrick “es3tag” Hansen
  • Danny “zonic” Sørensen – coach
