We have known for many weeks that something is happening in the camp of Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas and Filip “NEO” Kubski. Two Counter-Strike veterans after the ARCY fold decided to continue cooperation and jointly create another project that today saw the light of day. We present to you HONORIS.
In the team’s composition, of course, we will find the aforementioned TaZ and NEO, who co-created the legendary Golden Five in Counter-Strike 1.6 times, and have also triumphed in the CS:GO Major in 2014. They both have several years of playing together, although their paths diverged at the beginning of 2018, when Wojtas left Virtus.pro. Both men met again half a year ago, because it was then that NEO, who was returning to his home stage, joined ARCY. And although the latter team no longer exists, a new project called HONORIS was created on its ruins.
Daniel “STOMP” Płomiński also became its member, who in December could celebrate the victory in the ESL Polish Championships. However, in February he was removed from the Illuminar Gaming squad, and has since been sitting on the bench. The other two seats were won by slightly younger players, namely Wojciech “Prism” Zięba and Kamil “reiko” Cegiełko. The former had appearances in the Pompa Team and Together Esports, and was also tested by Izako Boars for some time. The other one has an OFF-MODE game in his CV, but he has been playing mainly mix teams lately.
We will not have to wait long for the debut of the new composition. TaZ, NEO and company will perform in this week’s #HomeSweetHome tournament. The Poles will play the whole group stage on May 21, and their opponent in the opening match scheduled for 12:20 CEST will be forZe. In addition to the Russian five, the HONORIS group also includes c0ntact Gaming and Syman Gaming.
After Virtus.pro I played for other organizations, but I wasn’t lucky to stay in one for long. In each case, we were troubled by problems not entirely dependent on the form of the team. After years of playing at the highest level, I still feel the hunger for fighting and winning, but I wanted to do it fully on my own terms, on my own responsibility and according to my long-term vision. I didn’t believe that any organization would give me such flexibility. By creating our own esports home with Filip we know that it will be our last word. We are also excited to work with Red Bull. The brand’s commitment is a great distinction for our new organization.
Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas
The decision to join forces in creating a long-term esports project did not take us much time. I have known Wiktor for years, together we experienced many good and bad moments, which only strengthened our relations. This is important when creating a joint organization. We also have the same sporting ambitions so we want to keep playing, but also to share our experience with younger players, which is one of Honoris’ most important goals.
Filip “NEO” Kubski
The composition of HONORIS is as follows:
- Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas
- Filipa “NEO” Kubski
- Daniel “STOMP” Płomiński
- Wojciech “Prism” Zięba
- Kamil “reiko” Cegiełko
