With just one day of matches remaining, six teams are still in the running to get into the EU LCS playoffs.
Team Vitality (10W-7L) and G2 Esports (10W-7L) were the first to join Fnatic and Splyce in the playoffs after their victories against Splyce and Unicorns of Love, respectively. All of the six remaining teams, however, still have a shot to join them in the gauntlet.
For Team ROCCAT (8W-9L) and H2k-Gaming (7W-10L), this whole split will come down to a single match, as the winner of this game will guarantee themselves a pass to the playoffs. ROCCAT will be looking to get revenge on H2k from Week 5, and secure their lifeline to keep the playoff dream alive.
For the rest of the teams, the situation isn’t as straightforward. FC Schalke 04 (7W-10L), even if they manage to defeat Fnatic, will have to rely on either Giants beating Splyce, or, if Splyce overcome Giants, Unicorns defeating Misfits and Team ROCCAT winning against H2k.
Similarly, Giants will need to grasp a victory against Splyce and hope that Fnatic wins against FC Schalke 04. Misfits, on the other hand, will be hoping for Giants to fail, as it would keep them in the running for the final playoff spot. But only if Team ROCCAT were to defeat H2k-Gaming and Fnatic would beat Schalke, could Misfits join the other five teams in the next stage of the league.
With just one day of games to go and with all of the remaining teams still in the contention for the playoffs, the 2018 EU LCS Spring Split promises to conclude on a high note, with as many as five potential tie-breakers looming on the horizon.
