Could Nikola “NiKo” Kovač leave the ranks of FaZe Clan after more than three years? This is what HLTV and 1pv.fr journalists claim, according to which Bosniak has become a transfer target of G2 Esports. Moreover, talks about the transfer of the 23-year-old were about to start.
NiKo became a FaZe player at the beginning of 2017, then switching from mousesports for, unofficially, half a million dollars. Kovač immediately became the main character of the team, but with time he was also responsible for the role of the leader. This obviously did not have a good effect on the individual performance of the Balkan shooter, and FaZe’s own results continued to deteriorate.
Even the subsequent staff changes, including the lattest, which saw Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye join the team had little improvement on the overall results. Suffice it to say that in the current ESL Pro League season, Kjaerbye, NiKo and Co. did not win any of the five games and are the only ones to have a round zero points.
In this situation, the rumors about a possible move of Kovač to G2 seem quite justified. What is certain is that such a transfer would probably be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, in the history of CS:GO. It also seems that if it were to happen, it would happen in the coming weeks, when the schedule of both teams will become a bit lighter. It is uncertain, however, as to whose seat the Bosnian would take over, but the most likely candidate in this situation seems to be François “AmaNEk” Delaunay. Interestingly, if NiKo would decide to change the environment, he would meet his cousin Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač in the new team.
If the above rumors were to be confirmed, the line-up of G2 Esports would be as follows:
- Kenny “kennyS” Schrub
- Audric “JaCkz” Jug
- Nemanja “nexa” Isaković
- Nemanja “huNter” Kovač
- Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
- Damien “maLeK” Marcel – coach
